Marlowe Critical Services signs the Armed Forces Covenant

In late June 2021, Marlowe Critical Services signed the Armed Forces Covenant. This means the company will endeavour in its business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant and demonstrate its commitment to the Covenant by promoting the Armed Forces, working alongside other organisations to provide employment opportunities to veterans, service spouses and partners and supporting reservists and cadets within its teams.

Employee Private Cayah Roberts had this to say:

“I became an Army Reservist in 2015 after getting made redundant from the regular Army after 11 years, during my service I completed 3 operational tours in Afghanistan.

When I was made redundant I felt lost and didn’t know what to do, so I decided to join the Reservists.

What I enjoy about it is the sense of belonging, the team work and comradeship with everyone who takes part. There are a mix of Reservists from different industries, from dustmen to company directors who show their commitment and work together as a team.

We have to complete mandatory camps, fire weapons and get dirty on exercise. My unit is responsible for setting up the laundry and showers, a bonus due to the clean clothes and access to the showers!

The reason I joined the unit is because I’ve done all my running around when I was in the regular Army, so it’s time for me to relax a bit more as I take part.

By the way I get paid to do it as well! Marlowe Critical Services signing up to the Covenant shows that the company recognises the skill set that I can bring to the company and that they understand I will need time off for exercises and for keeping my skills up to date.”
