On Saturday 2nd July 2022, The Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) is holding an Open Day and Party in the Park at Duke of Gloucester Barracks, South Cerney; the home of 29 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps.

What to see: The RLC’s Silver Stars parachute display team will be dropping in and the award winning RLC Enduro motorcycle display team will perform its high octane arena display. Look again to the skies to see a military capability demonstration by a heavy lift Chinook helicopter as it comes in to make a supply drop. For lovers of military music a marching band will get everyone in step and the RLC Equestrian display team will ride at speed across the arena demonstrating their tent pegging and horsemanship skills. There is more to see and do with a fun fair, sporting competitions, a farmers’ market, food stands and ample liquid refreshment.

Visitors can interact with the British Army’s logistics professionals and get hands on with the 16 trades available to RLC soldiers, including: Driver, Supplier, Mariner, Ammunition Technician, Chef, Air Despatcher, Vehicle Specialist, Petroleum Specialist, Photographer and Movement Controller.

RLC specialists from the Air Assault Support Regiment, the Commando Logistics Regiment and Explosive Ordnance Disposal will be on hand to explain how The RLC supports the UK’s air and sea borne forces and the civil authorities.

Gates open at 12 noon and the arena events finish at 5.00pm. But the fun doesn’t end there. For those with the energy to dance into the night, The RLC’s Party in the Park, live music event, starts at 6.00pm. There are food stalls, a beer tent and camping is available.

Entry and parking is free. Camping is available on site (no caravans or large motorhomes) for a £5.00 fee and four legged friends are welcome provided they are kept on a lead. You cannot afford to miss this great day out for all the family.
