Highbridge Army Cadet finds WW2 grenade

Highbridge Army Cadet finds WW2 grenade.

The cadet found the grenade whilst playing in Highbridge’s Apex Park with friends in February 2023.

Taking a photograph of the grenade and showing it to Serjeant Wayne Lawrence of Burnham and Highbridge Army Cadets led to the police being notified and the location given using the what3words app.

Officers were dispatched to the location and as a result no harm came to the public.

Cadets are taught the importance of safety on firing ranges and are told never to touch any suspicious items.”

The advice is always that if anyone finds anything suspicious, do not attempt to move it or touch it; just use the What 3 Words app and call 999.
